Delay is a venue for good short fiction. It publishes one-sitting stories that convey the weirdness of being. In Delay, experimental and formally traditional writing can coexist, but nothing supersedes the primacy of craft.
Formatting should be neat and sensible. Length should be dictated by subject matter, but generally concise.
Delay asks for a $3 reading fee to defray costs associated with web hosting and Submittable.
Delay publishes on an irregular calendar to align with peak travel times: August, November, December and March.
Delay pays contributors $50 per story, regardless of length.
